Job summary

MBC in Arlington, VA is seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist to support the D PAE Maritime M&S program for the U.S. Navy.

This role combines data analytics, modeling, and reporting to turn raw data into actionable insights used by government leadership. You will develop analytics applications, perform data mining, NLP, and ML on large datasets, visualize findings in dynamic reports, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience providing data analytics support to U.S. Navy program offices.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Eligibility to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in math, science, engineering, or related field from an institution accredited in the United States.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally using a credit card or prepaid debit card as required by MBC and/or clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
• Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Visualize, interpret, and report data findings by creating dynamic data reports.
• Plan internal and external engagements, including meetings, conferences, and events.
• Assist in the development of briefing material and drafting documents in accordance with Navy Correspondence Manual guidelines.
• Coordinate, monitor, and execute data calls to gather inputs from both internal and external stakeholders.
