Morgan Business Consulting (MBC) is seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist to provide analytics support for the Navy's Surface Ship Modernization and Sustainment program in the Washington, D.C. area.

The role involves data mining, NLP, ML, and creating data reports while coordinating meetings and briefing materials. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Navy data analytics, strong skills with Word/Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint, and eligibility for a DoD SECRET clearance.

We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist located in the Washington, D.C. area.

What You’ll Do

The Mid-Level Data Scientist will provide data analytics support to D PAE Maritime M & S, the U.S. Navy's program office for Surface Ship Modernization and Sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
• Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Visualize, interpret, and report data findings by creating dynamic data reports.
• Plan internal and external engagements, including meetings, conferences, and events.
• Assist in the development of briefing material and drafting documents in accordance with Navy Correspondence Manual guidelines.
• Coordinate, monitor, and execute data calls to gather inputs from both internal and external stakeholders. Consolidate and communicate information from data calls to government leadership for further action.
• Evaluate operational deficiencies, recommend improvements, and coordinate their implementation
• Transcribe and summarize meeting minutes and notes and assist in the preparation and closure of action items
• Assist in the scheduling of appointments in support of Government customer, the coordination of arrangements for meetings and conferences, and the arrangement of travel reservations and accommodations
• Attend meetings and program reviews, assist with compiling presentations, written materials, and/or electronic communications as required
• Travel domestically and internationally, provide in-person support at MBC and client sites, and obtain and maintain professional certifications and security clearances as required by MBC and/or MBC’s clients. These requirements are subject to change without advance notice at the discretion of MBC and MBC’s clients

Qualifications

• At least 5years of experience providing data analytics support to U.S. Navy program offices
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Eligibility to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in math, science, engineering, or related field from an institution accredited in the United States
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally using a credit card or prepaid debit card as required by MBC and/or clients
