Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a mid‑career Building Structural Engineer to independently perform analysis, design, and detailing for mid‑ to large‑scale vertical projects. You will apply advanced engineering judgment, run detailed simulations, and ensure code compliance while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within Kiewit’s design‑build framework.

Office locations include Woodcliff Lake, NJ, Manhattan, NY, or Lone Tree, CO, with some travel.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 3+ years of structural engineering experience in design and analysis for facilities/buildings/structures.
• Strong knowledge of building codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS, etc.).
• Experience with Design/Build or EPC projects is a plus.
• Proficient in structural analysis tools (SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, SAFE, RISA).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced structural design and analysis with minimal supervision.
• Apply building code knowledge to analyze and validate designs.
• Develop refined structural models and run detailed simulations.
• Produce construction documents and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project teams.
• Travel as needed for project work.
