Job summary

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant I/II for the MICU Night shift. Under RN supervision, assist with patient care, vital signs, and daily living activities to support a safe and compassionate environment.

Preferred NYS CNA license or certified training, plus one year of patient care experience and a HS Diploma/GED. Position includes pre-employment steps and potential shift differentials.

Qualifications

• One year of satisfactory full-time experience in the provision of simple treatment and other patient care services under professional supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of patient care and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Change dressings and assist with basic procedures as directed.
• Take vital signs (temperature, pulse, BP, respiration).
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
• Help with feeding and nutrition for patients as needed.
• Provide care with respect for patient rights, dignity and confidentiality.
• May perform housekeeping tasks related to direct patient care.
