Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center seeks a Nurse Manager RN MICU to lead patient care in the CVICU. You will guide nursing teams, oversee clinical operations, and ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and safety protocols.

The ideal candidate holds a Texas RN license, a BSN, and preferably a Master’s degree with CVICU leadership experience. ACLS/BCLS certifications are required, with supervisory responsibilities in direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or health related field highly preferred.
• Current State of Texas RN license required.
• National certification in relevant specialty or administration within six months of hire.
• Current BCLS certification required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• Five years nursing experience in CVICU strongly preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience in direct patient care required.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process with leadership to deliver safe care and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up.
