Howard University Hospital is seeking a Nurse Manager for the MICU in Washington, DC. The role oversees nursing care, directs clinical practice, and leads staff development while ensuring adherence to hospital policies and a patient-centered approach.

The candidate will require a DC nursing license, a Baccalaureate in Nursing, and supervisory experience. A Master's degree is preferred, with BLS certification and leadership certification eligibility within one year.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Five years of work experience in department-specific area.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Current District of Columbia nursing license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate through American Heart Association.
• Certification in leadership within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care in area of responsibility.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures and support the hospital's mission.
• Oversee clinical practice, staff development, continuing education, management, and leadership.
• Collaborate with administration, physicians, and multi-disciplinary staff to maintain open communication and quality patient care.
