Job summary

Muon Space in Silicon Valley is seeking a Microwave Systems Lead to spin up and lead a microwave instruments and data products team. You will own all elements from instrument design and hardware engineering through DSP and data product production, serving as the primary technical contact with customers and partners.

This hybrid role is on-site in San Jose, CA three days a week, with remote work possible from an approved location.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant field plus 5+ years of professional experience.
• Extensive background in design and hardware engineering of microwave instruments.
• Deep understanding of DSP implementation for microwave instruments.
• Familiarity with the generation of data products from microwave remote sensing.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills.

• Lead the team: form and lead a lightweight team of complementary experts
• Build world class hardware: build and fly cutting edge microwave instruments
• Produce high quality data: ensure the development of quality data products
• Collaboration and learning: work with our partners to enhance Muon’s internal skills
• Guiding the trajectory: work with BD/Product to direct our microwave systems strategy
