Job summary

Sonsoft, Inc. in the United States seeks an experienced BI Developer to design and deliver dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy. You will translate complex business questions into visual analytics and work with stakeholders to enable data-driven decisions across teams.

The role requires 4+ years in IT, strong SQL skills, experience with data modeling, and familiarity with Tableau. ETL tools such as Talend or Pentaho are a plus, and MicroStrategy-Hadoop integration is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of experience within the Information Technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop reports, dashboards, and metadata layers using MicroStrategy.
• Convert business data needs into visualizations in MicroStrategy.
• Partner with stakeholders to enable data-driven decisions through visualization.
• Complete life cycle: requirements gather, data modeling, visualization design, deployment, and enhancements.
• Write SQL for data mining and coordinate with ETL developers.
• MicroStrategy-Hadoop integration would be highly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills; data modeling and implementation.
• Tableau experience is a definite plus.
• Experience with ETL tools (Talend, Pentaho) preferred.
• Global delivery environment experience.

Job Description

• 4 years of experience in Developing reports, dashboards, SQL queries, or metadata layers, using MicroStrategy


• Experience in converting business data need into creative visualizations in MicroStrategy


• Thorough understanding of Microstrategy architecture


• Partner with Business stakeholders with the goal of providing them with the ability to make decisions and gain insights through data visualization.


• Complete life cycle experience which includes requirements gathering, Data-model and how to best visualize their data, followed by design, deployment, and on-going enhancements


• Be able to write SQL to do initial data mining that can then be communicated or translated to peer ETL developers for database development


• Microstrategy-Hadoop integration would be highly preferred.


• Strong Analytical skills


• Data modelling, design & implementation based on recognized standards.


• Additional knowledge of Tableau will be a definite plus


• Experience in ETL tools (like Talend, Pentaho) preferred


• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment


• Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment.
