Job summary

Sonsoft , Inc. is seeking a BI Developer to build dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy and SQL. You will turn business data needs into visual insights and collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to enable informed decisions.

The role requires 4+ years in BI with MicroStrategy, Tableau knowledge a plus, and experience in a global delivery environment, preferably in finance. This is a full-time opportunity based in the United States.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in developing reports, dashboards, SQL queries or metadata layers using MicroStrategy
• Experience turning business data needs into visualizations in MicroStrategy
• Thorough understanding of MicroStrategy architecture
• Partner with stakeholders to enable data-driven decisions via visualization
• End-to-end lifecycle: requirements, data modeling, visualization design, deployment, enhancements
• Proficient in writing SQL for data mining to guide ETL work
• MicroStrategy-Hadoop integration preferred
• Strong analytical and data modelling skills
• Knowledge of Tableau is a plus
• Experience with ETL tools like Talend and Pentaho is preferred
• Experience in a global delivery environment and collaboration across diverse teams
• Experience in the financial domain

Responsibilities

• Develop reports and dashboards using MicroStrategy and SQL
• Translate business needs into visualizations for stakeholders
• Collaborate with BI/ETL teams to implement data models and visualizations
• Support end-to-end BI lifecycle from requirements to deployment
• Assist in data mining and translating findings for developers
• Participate in global delivery projects and cross-functional teams

Job Description

• 4 years of experience in Developing reports, dashboards, SQL queries, or metadata layers, using MicroStrategy


• Experience in converting business data need into creative visualizations in MicroStrategy


• Thorough understanding of Microstrategy architecture


• Partner with Business stakeholders with the goal of providing them with the ability to make decisions and gain insights through data visualization.


• Complete life cycle experience which includes requirements gathering, Data-model and how to best visualize their data, followed by design, deployment, and on-going enhancements


• Be able to write SQL to do initial data mining that can then be communicated or translated to peer ETL developers for database development


• Microstrategy-Hadoop integration would be highly preferred.


• Strong Analytical skills


• Data modelling, design & implementation based on recognized standards.


• Additional knowledge of Tableau will be a definite plus


• Experience in ETL tools (like Talend, Pentaho) preferred


• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment


• Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.


• At least 4 years of experience within the Information Technologies.
