Job summary

Veridian Credit Union is seeking an IT Security Cloud Data Protection Engineer to secure Microsoft 365 and Azure environments with MPIP-driven data governance and compliance alignment. The role focuses on policy design, implementation, and ongoing protection across cloud and on‑premise resources.

The candidate will deploy MPIP data classification and DLP, collaborate with IT Security teams to address threats, and stay current with evolving Microsoft security features and regulatory requirements,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
8+ years of overall experience.
2+ years of cloud security experience with M365 and Azure.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CSF 2.0, CIS, ISO 27001-2022).
Familiarity with financial regulatory and compliance requirements including NCUA.

Responsibilities

Serve as subject matter expert for Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP).
Design, implement, and maintain MPIP for M365, Azure, and on-premise.
Develop and enforce MPIP security policies aligned with governance standards.
Deploy data classification in Microsoft 365 and Azure to align with governance solutions.
Design and deploy MPIP data loss prevention (DLP).
Monitor, investigate, and respond to policy violations and security alerts.
