We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Architect to join our professional services organization and help enterprise and public-sector customers modernize their Microsoft cloud environments.
This position is focused on architecture, transformation, and technical strategy across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. You will work closely with customer leadership, IT teams, security stakeholders, and internal delivery resources to assess existing environments, define target-state architectures, develop migration strategies, and guide implementations through successful adoption.
The ideal candidate combines strong Microsoft 365 expertise with the ability to operate in a consulting environment, communicate effectively with technical and business audiences, and turn complex requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Develop Microsoft 365 architecture strategies aligned to customer business, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Assess existing Microsoft environments and identify opportunities for cloud transformation, consolidation, modernization, and improved governance.
- Design target-state solutions across Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft Purview.
- Define migration approaches for workloads transitioning from on-premises, hybrid, or legacy platforms into Microsoft 365.
- Create architecture roadmaps, solution designs, technical recommendations, and implementation strategies.
- Establish identity, access, security, compliance, and governance frameworks across Microsoft cloud environments.
- Design and advise on Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, privileged access, identity lifecycle management, and hybrid identity architectures.
- Develop endpoint and device-management strategies using Microsoft Intune, configuration policies, compliance policies, application management, and Windows endpoint technologies.
- Provide guidance around Microsoft Teams architecture, collaboration strategy, voice, meeting, and organizational adoption requirements.
- Architect information protection, retention, eDiscovery, data governance, and compliance solutions using Microsoft Purview capabilities.
- Support Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant, hybrid, and legacy-platform migration initiatives where required.
- Analyze technical dependencies, risks, and constraints and translate them into actionable project recommendations.
- Participate in technical workshops, discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and customer presentations.
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation, diagrams, standards, decision records, migration plans, and technical runbooks.
- Partner with project managers, security consultants, cloud engineers, account teams, and customer stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide architectural oversight during implementation and help resolve complex technical issues that arise during deployment.
- Assist with post-deployment optimization, governance, and operational handoff.
- Stay current with Microsoft 365 roadmap developments, licensing changes, security capabilities, and emerging cloud technologies.

Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience working with Microsoft technologies, enterprise collaboration platforms, cloud infrastructure, or related IT environments.
- 3+ years in a Microsoft 365 architecture, consulting, engineering, or technical leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 service architecture and how individual workloads integrate within the broader Microsoft cloud ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering Microsoft 365 solutions for mid-market or enterprise organizations.
- Experience leading technical discovery, requirements gathering, architecture workshops, and solution-design activities.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management, particularly Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity.
- Practical understanding of Microsoft security, compliance, governance, and information‑protection concepts.
- Experience developing migration strategies and technical plans for Microsoft 365 adoption.
- Proficiency with PowerShell and the ability to automate administrative or deployment tasks.
- Strong technical documentation and diagramming skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present architecture and recommendations to both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple customer engagements and priorities in a consulting/professional-services environment.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations as project requirements dictate.

- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 licensing, Enterprise Agreements, and service-level considerations.
- Experience with tenant consolidation or tenant-to-tenant migration projects.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 adoption, change management, and organizational transformation programs.
- Background working for a VAR, systems integrator, MSP, consulting firm, or professional services organization.
- Experience supporting regulated, government, or highly security‑conscious environments.
