Overview

Direct message the job poster from Vertex Solutions Inc. Immediate need for an Architect with expertise in the M365 platform for a Contract to Hire remote role on EST or CST schedule. Must have M365 tenant-to-tenant migration experience. This is not open for 3rd party vendors. The candidate should be a subject matter expert in Security, Compliance, Identity, and Enterprise collaboration tools management under the Microsoft 365 umbrella and join our Cloud Services team to lead end users through modernization of collaboration services while embracing Microsoft’s Zero Trust security model. The position focuses on designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting security and compliance solutions leveraging Microsoft tooling. We are looking for a strong end-user-facing solution architect with deep expertise in the Microsoft 365 security stack. The role will work remotely and be available to work hours in support of North America time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design and Implementation: Strategically design, develop, and implement solutions within the Microsoft 365 suite, including services such as Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Viva suite, Power Platform, CoPilot, and security & compliance components across all M365 products.
• Collaboration design: Design end-to-end collaboration platforms across internal and external users using Microsoft 365 services.
• Integration and Security: Ensure seamless integration with other Microsoft 365 services; work with engineering teams to design, test, and implement security enhancements.
• Technical leadership: Serve in a product owner capacity, owning the overall technical relationship and strategy between IT and Microsoft; lead architectural design sessions, develop proofs of concepts, implement projects, and continuously refine solutions.

Other responsibilities

• Draft proposed solutions/implementations leveraging advanced features of the latest Microsoft Security offerings to strengthen security posture.
• Develop repeatable deployment plans for Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity offerings.
• Oversee the implementation of M365 tools.
• Build proofs of concept and sample environments to demonstrate Microsoft 365 offerings.
• Act as the technical product owner of the Microsoft 365 Security & Infrastructure services.
• Build and maintain automation to manage on-prem and cloud infrastructure related to Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Active Directory.
• Configure and monitor cloud infrastructure; troubleshoot and repair complex technical problems with team members, product consumers, and vendors promptly.
• Research competing third-party products to identify feature parity with Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity offerings.

Qualifications

• Experience: Relevant experience in a Microsoft 365 Architect role is essential; familiarity with Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, is crucial.
• Certifications: Microsoft certifications are advantageous.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to map technical solutions to business problems.
• Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently or as part of a team; strong organizational and communication skills; customer and quality focused; proven experience guiding organizations through the Modern Workplace journey.
• 7+ years of experience with solution design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Microsoft 365, Security, Compliance & Identity products, including:
  • M365 product suite
  • Active Directory
  • Logic Apps
  • Automation
  • Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Hybrid Azure AD and AD Federation Services
  • PowerShell and troubleshooting
  • Identity management (Entra ID, PAM, Microsoft Identity governance)
  • Knowledge of identity management products (Okta and Duo) is a plus; driving transition to Entra ID
