Job summary

Scale Microgrids is building dynamic microgrids and financing solutions to power resilient businesses. In Santa Monica, the Business Development role supports turning opportunities into bankable, construction-ready projects and helps design scalable processes across teams.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in energy, an undergrad in a technical field, and intermediate Python/Excel skills. You’ll collaborate with engineering, finance, and project management to drive growth.

Qualifications

• Have an undergraduate degree in engineering, finance, physics, economics, or a related technical field.
• Have 1-2 years of experience working in energy, utilities, or a related industry.
• Comfortable using Python and Excel at an intermediate or above level.
• Be able to thrive with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate project economics based on utility savings, grid-services revenue, financing costs, etc.
• Assist the BD team with proposal development, client calls, presentations, etc.
• Interface with engineering, finance, and project management departments.
• Nurture relationships with internal peers and external partners.
