Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Power Systems Electrical Engineer to support design, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support of Battery Energy Storage System product lines. This role involves designing microgrid architectures and understanding equipment like storage, PV inverters, batteries, generators, and transformers.

The engineer will create single-line and three-line diagrams, review NEC/IEEE requirements, and collaborate to ensure safe, compliant systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Systems Engineering.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution, low & medium voltage transformers, switchgear controls, system grounding designs, and NEC/IEEE requirements.
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Experience with SKM/ETAP/EasyPower is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, commission, and support Battery Energy Storage System products.
• Design microgrid architectures and integration of storage, PV inverters, batteries, generators, transformers, etc.
• Create single-line and three-line diagrams for system layouts and buildouts.
• Understand NEC/IEEE requirements and ensure compliance across projects.
