Job summary

Solaris Energy Infrastructure, Inc. seeks a Microgrid Automation Engineer to design, configure, integrate, and commission automation systems for utility-scale microgrid projects.

You will serve as the technical interface to contractors, integrators, OEMs, and operations across the full project lifecycle. The role focuses on Ignition SCADA (Perspective/ Vision) and DCS, requiring hands-on work with Python/Java scripting, SQL, and data integration across PLCs and field devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, configuration, integration, and commissioning of automation and control systems for microgrid power plants.
• Assist in development and maintenance of SCADA applications with Ignition (Perspective/Vision).
• Configure data points, alarms, trends, and dashboards in Ignition SCADA.
• Develop scripts using Python or Java to support custom logic and reporting.
• Create and optimize SQL queries for data storage and reporting.
• Support integration of PLCs/RTUs/meters via OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT, DNP3, and Ethernet/IP.
• Assist in FAT/SAT, testing, and troubleshooting on-site and remotely.
