Labcorp is seeking experienced Clinical Lab Professionals for the role of Microbiology Technologist-PRN in Overland Park, KS. If you thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and are committed to improving health and lives, we want to hear from you.

Work Schedule: PRN Weekend

Job Responsibilities

1. Determine specimen acceptability for testing based on established criteria.
2. Perform routine and complex technical procedures following SOPs.
3. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
4. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
5. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
6. Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
7. Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
8. Replenish testing supplies as needed.
9. Assist with specimen processing as required.
10. Maintain a safe working environment and use PPE appropriately.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a color vision test.
• Flexibility for overtime or shift work as needed.
• Experience in microbiology preferred.
