Job summary

Long Island Labs LLC is hiring a hands-on Microbiologist to prepare media, operate autoclaves, and perform daily instrument checks while executing USP microbiological testing with strict aseptic technique and thorough documentation.

The role focuses on sample testing per USP guidelines, media qualification, environmental monitoring, and maintaining ISO 17025–ready records. On-site work with standard lab hours and safety practices.

Qualifications

• BS in Microbiology, Biology, related field or 3+ years industry experience.
• 1+ year hands-on microbiology lab experience (academic, internship, or industry).
• Working knowledge of USP <61>/<62>/<2021>/<2022> workflows, GPT/media suitability, and basic EM.
• Strong GDP and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbial enumeration per USP <61>/<2021> and USP <62>/<2022> for materials and finished products.
• Prepare media, run autoclave cycles, and verify cycle parameters with logs.
• Conduct environmental monitoring of air and surfaces and trend results.
• Document GDP-compliant batch records, logs, GPT records, and instrument checks.
• Draft/review SOPs and method verifications; maintain ISO 17025–ready documentation.
• Support audits and implement corrective actions.
