Job summary

Long Island Labs LLC in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a hands‑on Microbiologist to perform media prep, operate autoclaves, and conduct USP microbiological testing under GMP/ISO expectations.

You will document results, maintain logs, and support EM, GPT, and routine equipment checks to ensure ISO 17025 readiness. This on‑site role requires a BS in Microbiology or related field and 1+ year of lab experience with strong aseptic technique and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• BS in Microbiology, Biology, related field or 3+ years industry experience.
• 1+ year hands‑on microbiology lab experience with media prep, autoclaves, and aseptic technique.
• Working knowledge of USP <61>/<62>/<2021>/<2022> workflows, GPT/media suitability, and basic EM.
• Strong GDP and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbial testing per USP <61>/<62> for raw materials and finished products.
• Prepare and sterilize media, buffers, and reagents; label, track inventory.
• Run autoclave cycles and verify parameters; complete logs.
• Conduct viable air and surface monitoring; trend results and investigate excursions.
• Maintain daily calibrations/verification for pH meters and balances; log and escalate issues.
• Draft/review SOPs and maintain ISO 17025–ready documentation.
