Job summary

Based in the Sensient Agricultural Ingredients unit in Turlock, CA, this position requires a bachelor’s degree in a physical science or related field and a strong microbiology foundation with precise data entry in LIMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical science, microbiology, biology, chemistry, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong microbiology foundation and ability to follow SOPs for qualitative and quantitative testing.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate results.
• Good color discrimination, manual dexterity, and ability to handle sample preparation.
• Familiarity with laboratory information management systems for data entry and recordkeeping.
• Ability to plan, organize supplies, and meet testing timelines.
• Commitment to good laboratory practices and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine microbiology procedures including media prep, plate reading, PCR testing, and confirmation assays.
• Ensure testing quality by following ISO 17025 requirements and established procedures.
• Maintain lab operations: inventory, supplies, equipment calibration, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
• Prepare media and broth for testing; assist with waste disposal and lab cleanup.
• Document data accurately in LIMS and related systems.
• Support continuous improvement projects and participate in research as needed.
• Perform other lab tasks as required.
