Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform a broad range of tests in an acute care setting in Annapolis, MD. You will operate instruments, ensure quality controls, and report results to the care team with accuracy.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree with ASCP certification eligibility and at least one year of acute care laboratory experience; MLS/MT certification is preferred. Excellent benefits and professional development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with course work sufficient to meet ASCP certification requirements.
• One year of experience in an acute care facility as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory tests across hematology, immunohematology, chemistry, bacteriology, mycology, serology, parasitology, endocrinology, general immunology, and urinalysis.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation; performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintains lab supplies inventory and orders to ensure uninterrupted workflow; documents QC for each procedure daily.
• Provides clinical laboratory information by interpreting test results and communicating abnormal values to supervisors, pathologists, or clinicians.
• Participates in external proficiency testing and continuing education to maintain licensure.
