Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Microbiology Medical Technologist to perform technical procedures in accordance with CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, AABB and OSHA standards across a two-hospital system.

The role requires maintaining knowledge and proficiency in procedures, with testing across a broad patient age range from newborns to geriatric patients, and the ability to make quick, independent decisions in a highly productive environment.

Qualifications

• Must perform technical procedures per regulatory standards CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, AABB and OSHA.
• Maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols.
• Assess specimen quality and validity of test results.
• Ability to work in a highly productive department serving two hospital system.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of all procedures and protocols.
• Maintains proficiency in performance of technical procedures.
• Testing is provided for patients with varying degrees of clinical conditions and different acuity levels.
• Testing is provided for all age ranges from newborns to geriatric patients.
• Ability to work in a highly productive department serving a two hospital system
• Make independent decisions quickly and accurately.
• Consistently performs multiple technical tasks and assignments independently
• Ability to assess specimen quality and the validity of test results
