Job summary

American Health Associates in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist – Microbiology to perform complex testing and deliver accurate results to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

The role requires strong knowledge of bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing, with ASCP/MLS certification preferred and a bachelor's or associate degree in MLS/MLT. A fast-paced lab environment and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
• ASCP MLS/MT, AMT, or equivalent certification preferred
• Microbiology laboratory experience preferred
• Strong understanding of culture techniques, organism identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Perform bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, and microbiology testing according to established procedures
• Process and culture specimens, identify microorganisms, and perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing
• Evaluate, interpret, and report laboratory results accurately and promptly
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot microbiology instrumentation and equipment
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and laboratory policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records
• Collaborate with laboratory leadership to deliver exceptional patient results
