Job summary

American Health Associates in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform tests across hematology, urinalysis and chemistry, and to report findings to physicians.

You will run quality controls, maintain instrumentation, handle critical results, and participate in cross-training across departments.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in biological sciences or chemistry, plus completion of a medical laboratory program or 3 years of experience; ASCP/AMT preferred.

• Completion of qualified medical laboratory science program or three years of acceptable clinical laboratory experience required.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

The role

AHA's Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory testing and reporting laboratory findings to physicians. The skills requirements for a Medical Technician include Occupational Specific, Technical Skills, Personal and Professional. AHA's MLT must meet the personnel responsibilities per CLIA Sec. 493.1495: Standard Testing personnel responsibilities.

What your day looks like

• Produce and report appropriate laboratory results in hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and automated chemistry
• Perform, interpret, and record quality control data in all departments
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation as prescribed in procedures.
• Call critical results
• Perform inventory and maintain department supplies

What you bring

• Completion of qualified medical laboratory science program or three years of acceptable clinical laboratory experience required
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• 2-4 years of laboratory experience preferred
