Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist - Microbiology at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL. The role involves performing clinical laboratory tests, using automated and manual methods to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.

Under supervision, you will review results, perform QC, maintain equipment, and participate in education and committees while ensuring safety and quality across the lab. This position is per diem with a 6am-2:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• ASCP, NCA or equivalent registration preferred.
• MICRO experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient tests with automated equipment and manual methods.
• Reviews test results for accuracy and notifies relevant staff of critical results.
• Performs quality control per departmental protocols and documents actions.
• Maintains instrument checks, maintenance and troubleshooting per protocol.
• Maintains competencies per hospital and laboratory policies.
• Promotes patient satisfaction and courteous service to staff, patients and visitors.
• Participates in continuing education, in-services and lab meetings.
