Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist - Microbiology for Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL. The position is PER DIEM; as needed, with 6am-2:30pm hours and an hourly pay range of $31.06–$46.59, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include performing patient tests with manual and automated methods, reviewing results, QC, instrument maintenance, and ensuring timely reporting. Eligible candidates hold an Associate degree in Medical Technology/CLS and ideally ASCP/NCA registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher degree in Medical Technology/CLS is required or preferred.
• ASCP, NCA or equivalent registration preferred.
• MICRO bench experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform patient tests using manual and automated methods.
• Review results for accuracy and communicate critical values to clinicians.
• Conduct quality control per dept protocols and document actions.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Maintain competencies and stay updated with lab policies and safety.
• Identify abnormal results and notify supervisor/pathologist as needed.
• Promote patient satisfaction and teamwork in the lab and ward areas.
• Participate in continuing education, meetings, and committees.
• Maintain safe environment with PPE and proper handling of specimens.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff and students.
