Job summary

HGS Engineering, Inc. in Oxford, AL is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a full-time position. You will adhere to SOPs, prepare reagents, enter data in LIMS, and maintain equipment in a regulated lab environment.

The role requires an Associates Degree in science or health with preference for a Bachelors in biology or chemistry and some lab experience. A strong team player who can lift up to 50 pounds and work on-site is ideal.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a field of science or health is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in biology or chemistry is preferred.
• Laboratory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to laboratory guidelines, SOPs, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare reagents and materials for daily or weekly use.
• Data entry and record keeping including LIMS data entry and filing.
• Use and maintain laboratory equipment and PPE.
• Report equipment issues to management and manage inventory according to SOPs.
• Perform Legionella and HPC assays per applicable standards.
• Carry out DNA amplification via PCR and basic chemical analyses.
• Package and ship samples to external laboratories as needed.
• Maintain QA/QC under the Quality Manager and regulatory standards.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand/sit for prolonged periods.
