Job summary

Fresenius Kabi in the United States is seeking a seasoned Laboratory Supervisor to lead the Microbiology team. You will hire, coach and develop staff, review performance, and ensure GMP/USP/EP compliance while supervising environmental monitoring, utilities, and finished product testing.

The role requires ensuring timely release of products, implementing SOPs, and collaborating with QA, Chemistry and Production to maintain quality systems.

Qualifications

• Supervises daily activities of scientists and technicians; ensures deadlines are met.
• Hires and oversees the training of department personnel; maintains morale and development.
• Conducts performance evaluations.
• Assures execution of monitoring and testing programs to assess quality of raw materials, components, in-process and finished goods, environmental systems/utilities systems and effectiveness of production processes.
• Establishes goals for the timely release of product and performance of projects; monitors performance and takes corrective action.
• Generates new/revise Standard Operating Procedures for Microbiology test procedures.
• Investigates non-conforming raw material, product or components and determines disposition.
• Identifies significant adverse quality trends and addresses quality control test results and customer complaints.
• Reviews work for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Oversees training in SOPs and related topics; mentors and develops staff.
• Ensures equipment is calibrated and supplies are available.
• Supervises investigations of non-conforming materials and corrective actions.
• Collaborates with Production, QA, Chemistry, Maintenance, Metrology and Validation to meet schedules.
• Supervises qualification/requalification programs for production and laboratory personnel.
• Investigates deviations and non-conformances; ensures proper investigations are completed.
