Job summary

AdventHealth Denver is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead testing operations, implement new tests and procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance across the department.

You will manage staffing within budget, oversee policy development, supervise staff, drive performance improvement, and serve as a system-wide technical resource. A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in clinical laboratory management are required, with 4+ years training and 5+ years supervisory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates to maintain testing, products, services, and equipment; introduces new tests and processes.
• Prepares and manages an operating budget for staffing, development, space, supplies, and equipment.
• Develops policies and procedures in the document control system for regulatory compliance.
• Supervises and performs pre-analytical and support activities.
• Manages testing and analytical procedures with staff adherence to policies.
• Oversees post-analytical activities for all age groups of patients.
• Directs staffing within budget including interviewing and training.
• Mentors staff, resolves complex customer service issues, and guides workflow.
• Leads performance improvement activities and promotes safety and engagement.
• Participates in committees and cross-campus teams; serves as a technical resource.
• Includes hazardous waste handling training and safety compliance.
