Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Microbiology and Molecular Supervisor to oversee the Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics sections. You will ensure high-quality, timely, compliant testing across bacteriology, virology, and PCR/NAAT, while guiding daily operations and staff.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or related field, ASCP MLS certification (preferred), and at least five years of microbiology/molecular lab experience.
The Microbiology and Molecular Supervisor provides operational, technical, and administrative oversight of the Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics sections within the laboratory. This role ensures high-quality, timely, and compliant testing services across bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST), and molecular diagnostics (PCR/NAAT).
This individual is: 1) responsible for daily operations, staff supervision, workflow optimization, regulatory compliance, and implementation of automation and digital microbiology solutions 2) partners closely with laboratory leadership, medical directors, infection prevention, and clinical teams to support patient care, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection control initiatives.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $79,372.80 to $106,828.80 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
