Position: Microbiologist III

The Microbiologist III serves as the lead Microbiologist for the Environmental Microbiology Section. Responsibilities include coordinating supplies and equipment with the Program Manager, training staff, analyzing samples, performing microbiological quality controls, providing technical consultation, reviewing SOPs and safety manuals, and completing administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
  • A Master’s Degree in microbiology with one year of microbiology experience; or a bachelor’s degree in microbiology with two years of experience; or a degree in the natural or physical sciences with microbiology credits and three years of lab experience. A doctorate may substitute for experience.
  • Recognized institutions by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Additional Requirements:
  • Laboratory experience related to the field
  • Proficiency with instrumentation software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to perform scientific calculations, communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, adhere to safety protocols, stand for long periods, and lift at least 30 lbs.
  • Strict adherence to SOPs and safety procedures
