Job summary

Piping Rock Health Products, INC is seeking a Microbiologist II to test a wide range of products, report results, and mentor fellow team members in a GMP environment.

The role requires a bachelor in Microbiology or Biology with 5+ years of experience or a Master’s with 3+ years, and knowledge of PET, environmental testing, and preparatory testing. Occasional Saturdays may be required based in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Microbiology (preferred) or Biology with 5+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 3+ years.
• Pharmaceutical/Dietary supplement industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of PET, Environmental Testing and Preparatory testing is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with electronic laboratory management systems is preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work occasional Saturdays.
• Must comply with GMP requirements and related training.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine testing of samples per established procedures.
• Collects specialized samples in production areas as needed.
• Sets up and dismantles instruments; prepares solutions and media for procedures.
• Records observations and reports results; maintains records per policies and standards.
• Ensures compliance with GMP, safety and health requirements; maintains housekeeping to minimize contamination.
• Participates in investigational studies of atypical results as required.
• Maintains laboratory standards or cultures; supports training and development of team members.
