Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Cinnaminson, NJ is hiring a Microbiologist I to prepare and analyze environmental samples using direct microscopy.

No prior laboratory experience required; on-the-job training provided. The role includes reading fungi in spore trap samples, generating reports, and complying with QA/QC standards. The position is full-time, with a 8:30am–5:00pm schedule and a starting pay of $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Science; Biology or Microbiology preferred.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Lab experience in academic or commercial settings is a plus.
• Experience with spore traps, direct microscopy, culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plus.
• Ability to use phase contrast and light microscopes and maintain sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples by direct microscopy.
• Read and identify fungi in spore trap and tape samples.
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into LIMS.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control per QA/QC manual.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.
