Job summary

Actalent in Elkhorn, WI seeks a Microbiologist for contract-to-hire arrangement onsite. You will perform routine microbiological testing, prepare media, and maintain samples while ensuring compliance with SOPs and GMP standards. The role requires handling bioburden, endotoxin, sterility testing, and environmental monitoring, with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological testing according to established procedures and testing protocols.
• Prepare microbiological media, reagents, and laboratory supplies.
• Conduct aseptic laboratory techniques to maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination.
• Perform microbial plating, streaking, culturing, and enumeration activities.
• Conduct macroscopic and microscopic examination of microorganisms.
• Perform inoculations of microbial cultures and maintain stock cultures as required.
• Support bioburden, microbial limits, endotoxin, and sterility testing activities.
• Assist with environmental monitoring activities, including air, surface, and personnel sampling.
• Document testing activities, observations, calculations, and results in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
• Ensure all laboratory work is performed in accordance with SOPs, USP guidelines, GMP regulations, and quality standards.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine cleaning, calibration checks, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Participate in laboratory investigations related to out-of-specification, out-of-trend, or contamination events.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhorn, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
