Job summary

Actalent in Madison, WI is seeking an Associate Analytical Chemist for 1st and 2nd shifts to perform chemical identification, testing, and analytical assays on food and dietary supplement products.

The role requires wet chemistry techniques, operation of FTIR, UV-Vis, HPLC, GC, IC, and titration systems, along with meticulous data documentation and adherence to lab safety. Onsite, contract-to-hire with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
• Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques and laboratory practices.
• Experience with analytical instrumentation or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical identification, quality testing, and analytical assays on a variety of products.
• Conduct wet chemistry testing, including titrations, gravimetric analysis, sample preparation, and solution preparation.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as FTIR, UV-Vis, HPLC, GC, IC, and automated titration systems.
• Perform microbiological assays, pipetting, and data interpretation as required.
• Document test results; maintain compliance with laboratory procedures.
• Manage multiple assays and priorities while ensuring quality, accuracy, and turnaround times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet client deadlines and support laboratory operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
