Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Princeton Hospital seeks a MI/CD psychotherapist trainee to join a multidisciplinary team supporting adolescents with mental health and addiction concerns and their families. You will determine clinical interventions, facilitate therapy, develop transition/discharge plans, and collaborate with licensed supervisors to ensure evidence-based, coordinated care.

This role includes a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or related field.
• 1 year of supervised experience in mental health and chemical dependency.
• LADC license and eligibility for LMFT/LPCC licensure.
• LGSW or eligible for independent clinical licensure as LMFT or LPCC.

Responsibilities

• Determine interventions for MI and/or SUD issues and facilitate therapy.
• Develop transition/discharge plans and coordinate with the care team.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team and supervisors.

Position Overview

MI/CD psychotherapist trainee role is located at Fairview Princeton Hospital. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting adolescents with Mental health and Addiction concerns and their families.

Determines clinical interventions for MI and or SUD issues, facilitates therapy and provides education for patients and their families. Facilitates treatment planning and manages each case. Responsible for development of transition/discharge plan. Communicates effectively and respectfully with others, including interdisciplinary team and all other contacts. Functions as an interdisciplinary team member. Accepts supervision and consultation with a licensed supervisor for the functions of this position in their clinical practice.

• Promotes a culture of evidence-based practice by participation in any of, but not limited to, the following activities:
  • Utilizing evidence-based policies in clinical practice
  • Attends and participates in learning opportunities about evidence-based practice
  • Membership in hospital or department councils
  • Evidence based practice project (e.g. policy development or poster presentation)
  • Development of standard/pathway/guideline for patient care
  • Presentation
  • Research study

• For Behavioral Inpatient units, responds and participates in Behavior Control Situations (BCS), and for both Behavioral Inpatient and Outpatient units, performs CPR.

Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities

Required

Education

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or closely related field.

Experience

• 1 year of supervised experience in mental health and chemical dependency including comprehensive assessment, individual, group, and family therapy.

License/Certification/Registration

• Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
• LGSW or eligible for independent clinical licensure as a LMFT or LPCC

Preferred

Experience

2 or more years of experience in mental health and chemical dependency.
