Job description

This pivotal position resides with one of our Talent Solutions client where we have established a strong partnership. The Senior Manager, Business Systems is the NetSuite owner for this client. Our client is a modern American wood manufacturer, distributor, and technology company connecting and modernizing the wood economy. They work with architects, builders, and leading brands across the built environment, including Amazon, Room & Board, and Equinox. Their work has been recognized by Time's Best Inventions and Fast Company's Innovation by Design Awards. Technology is how they match supply to demand across a fragmented industry. The American hardwood industry has lost more than half its sawmills in the last two decades. Quality trees go to waste, and the US imports more lumber than it produces, even though domestic capacity could meet nearly all of our needs. Until now, this industry forced a choice: local relationships or national scale, meaningful materials or modern efficiency. They don't think those are real tradeoffs. They're building the infrastructure to prove it, with modern software, better supply chains, and a clear view of what comes next: a wood economy that's local, efficient, and built to last.

About This Role

The physical operations run on NetSuite. Every wood transaction, every purchase order, every fulfillment across our distribution hubs and partner network moves through it. They went live earlier this year, and getting there took a company-wide push with support from outside partners. They now need a single owner to drive adoption, system improvements, and prepare for future growth. This role is that owner. You'll be the first person for this client whose whole job is making our core systems excellent: learning how each team actually works, deciding what to shape next and in what order, and building the operational backbone for a company heading into its next fundraise and further acquisitions. You will own NetSuite and its integrations. This is a good moment to arrive. The foundational decisions are all still open in a way they won't be a year from now. This role builds the systems function from the ground up. No playbook exists yet. You'll write it.

What You'll Do Here
  • Craft the NetSuite Roadmap: You’ll sit with stakeholders across the business and with our contractors. You'll spend real time in facilities and warehouses understanding how material actually moves, and you’ll document clearly how the system works today. Then, you'll use what you learn to publish a roadmap of changes tied to measurable outcomes.
  • Emphasis on Adoption and Change Management: You will put the roadmap of changes into practice (with contractor resources available as needed), with a focus on adoption. Every substantive change will have a pre-deployment training, a post-deployment adoption audit, and a report on efficiency gains.
  • Monitor the System and Integrations: You'll build real sandbox-to-production discipline — testing, release process, and error-monitoring. You will own the Netsuite side of integrations with tech stack, including Hubspot, DocuSign, Stripe, other tools, and native products. You will work closely with the Engineering team to support customer-facing experiences which read from NetSuite.
  • Develop Effective Feedback Loops: You will define how systems work gets done. You’ll collect feedback in a continuous, structured way from the necessary stakeholders and adapt the roadmap as business needs evolve. You will have executive backing to convene cross-functional forums as needed.
  • Acquisition & Integration: Acquisitions are a core part of a growth plan. Each arrives with its own data, processes, and habits. You'll write and run the integration playbook for bringing new companies onto NetSuite.
Your Skill Sets and Experience Include
  • NetSuite Experience with Physical Products: 5+ years in business systems or ERP administration within a physical product company. You're fluent in Netsuite back end architecture (SuiteScripts and Custom Builds) and front end experience. Applicants with experience at lumber or forest products businesses preferred.
  • Outcome-Focused Change Management: You have successfully rolled out system and process changes to people who don't sit at desks and preferred the old way of doing things. Most importantly, you proved that the change led to improved, measurable business outcomes.
  • Effective Discovery & Triage: You know how to run a discovery conversation with people who don't speak systems, and to get at what they actually need rather than what they think they're asking for.
  • Multi-Entity, Multi-Site Operations: You've managed NetSuite across multiple locations and business units. You've also worked on a WMS (receiving, bin and lot tracking, picking & packing, mobile scanning, label printing). NetSuite WMS is preferred.
  • Integration Fluency: You've built and maintained integrations in NetSuite. You understand how they fail, and you've been the person who found out before the business did. You can read and debug SuiteScript 2.x, and you know that when other teams build against your data model you can't change a field on a whim.
What You'll Have to Work With
  • A young system. NetSuite went live earlier this year, so the architecture decisions can still be changed without unwinding years of history. You'll decide what gets decommissioned, what gets rebuilt, and when we bring in outside help.
  • Clear ownership. NetSuite and its integrations are your domain, and you’ll be measured on the real business efficiencies you’re able to create within it. Architecture decisions in your domain are yours to make, not to recommend. This is a role with the power and expectation to improve how Cambium operates.
