Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Service Technician I to perform general maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance on material handling equipment, automated systems and conveyors across our customer sites. Responsibilities include scheduling PMs, creating and updating work orders, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, reading schematics, and maintaining accurate records.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and are able to lift up to 50 lbs and travel up to 25%

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D. or tech school graduate is required.
• 0–2 years of mechanic experience; preferably with material handling, automated systems and conveyors.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple types of equipment and systems.
• Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
• Self-motivated, self-directed, highly responsible, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs and safely operate lift trucks.

Responsibilities

• Performs corrective repairs and preventive maintenance on MHE, batteries, automated systems and conveyors per OEM standards.
• Schedules Planned Maintenance (PM) for Fleet Services Equipment and keeps PM records updated.
• Executes PM procedures per OEM specs and maintains accurate PM records.
• Creates and processes work orders accurately in maintenance management system.
• Troubleshoots engines, fuel systems, transmissions, automated systems, conveyors, or other components using manuals and diagrams.
• Maintains equipment condition and supports repair readiness by reporting damage and maintaining records.
• Communicates with Parts team on parts and supplies needed and maintains inventory records.
• Conducts tests of safety equipment to ensure OSHA and site standards.
• Aims to achieve site KPI targets and interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Adheres to 5S principles to keep the service area organized, clean and safe.
• Supports Kenco Operating System by identifying safety and efficiency improvements.
