Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions in Tukwila, WA is seeking an experienced Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Technician/Mechanic to keep forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment running safely and efficiently.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, document repairs, and maintain tools while adhering to safety standards and company policies. Join a responsive fleet service team with ample growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ hands-on experience in material handling equipment maintenance and repair.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on diesel engines, brakes, tires, A/C systems, and MHE.
• Solid working knowledge of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, and similar units).
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position
• DOT physical if required for the role

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and timely repairs on MHE including forklifts, stand-up lifts, walk-behind lifts, pallet jacks, and similar units.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related systems on MHE.
• Conduct diesel engine diagnostics, brake repairs, tire service, A/C repairs, and PM services.
• Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards.
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and tools.
