Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a skilled Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Technician/Mechanic in Tukwila, WA. The role focuses on maintenance and repair of forklifts, pallet jacks, and related gear to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Expect 40–55 USD per hour with weekly pay and full benefits within 30 days. The technician will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and document all work orders with precision.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on MHE maintenance and repair.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting on diesel engines, brakes, tires, and A/C systems.
• Solid knowledge of forklifts, pallet jacks, and similar units.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to own and maintain personal tools.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• DOT physical ability if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and timely repairs on material handling equipment, including forklifts, stand-up lifts, walk-behind lifts, pallet jacks, and similar units.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related systems on MHE.
• Conduct diesel engine diagnostics, brake repairs, tire service, A/C repairs, and scheduled PM services on material handling equipment.
• Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards.
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to minimize equipment downtime.

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring a skilled Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Tukwila, WA.

This role focuses primarily on the maintenance and repair of material handling equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Pay & Schedule

Pay $40.00 - $55.00/hour (based on experience)

Pay Frequency Weekly pay - every Friday

Schedule Monday - Friday 600am - 230pm

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years’ of hands-on experience in material handling equipment maintenance and repair
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on diesel engines, brakes, tires, A/C systems, and MHE
• Solid working knowledge of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, and similar units)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed below)
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical if required for the role

This role involves working in a mobile and or shop environment that may include exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical irritants such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential functions that include lifting heavy objects, accessing tight spaces, and bending, stooping, crouching, or crawling as needed to complete repairs.
