Job summary

Covenant Health’s Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville seeks a Manager, Volunteer Services to lead administrative functions across Parkwest Medical Center, Peninsula Hospital, and Fort Sanders West. This full-time role supports volunteer programs and aligns with Covenant Health's mission.

You will supervise volunteer staff, develop policies, recruit volunteers, and report on program effectiveness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with postsecondary vocational training.
• Minimum 3 years hospital experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Licensure not required.

Responsibilities

• Works with hospital leadership to identify staffing needs and respond with volunteers.
• Provides volunteers for fundraising programs and projects.
• Supervises adult and college volunteer programs.
• Creates and maintains procedures, policies, and job descriptions for each volunteer area.
• Promotes programs and recruits additional volunteers.
• Staffing and evaluations of department employees.
• Organizes quarterly volunteer meetings.
• Manages the volunteer newsletter.
• Handles disciplinary issues related to volunteers.
• Serves on committees and teams as requested.
• Follows policies and safety standards; completes annual education; pursues quality improvement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

• Supervises adult and college volunteer programs.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining procedures, policies, and job descriptions for each volunteer work area.
• Promotes volunteer programs and recruits additional volunteers.
• Responsible for staffing and evaluations of employed persons in department.
• Organizes and presents at quarterly volunteer meetings.
• Responsible for management of volunteer newsletter.
• Handles disciplinary problems and complaints related to volunteers.
• Serves on committees and teams as requested.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

High school and some post high school/vocational specialized training required

Minimum Experience:

Three (3) years of hospital experience that includes supervisory experience required.
