Job summary

Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee a 182-bed behavioral health unit. You will manage interviewing, hiring, staffing and the delivery of nursing care for psychiatric and chemically dependent patients.

The role requires RN licensure in Florida with CPI/CPR-ACLS certification, and leadership experience in a psychiatric setting. This position offers career growth within UHS and benefits as described.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse; psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent.
• Combination of education and years of experience can substitute for degree requirement.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida; CPR & ACLS certification.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for full unit operation including, interviewing, hiring, and termination process. staffing, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for psychiatric and chemically dependent patients for the designated unit and, responsible for the operational and programmatic management of the designated shift; and assist in the professional growth and development of nursing staff, and direct supervision in the respective unit, carries out supervisory responsibilities in according with the organizations. This position is responsible for planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employee; addressing complaints and resolving problems when needed.

Requirements

Education/Training

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing - BSN preferred

Experience

• Some experience in working with mental health population is required.

• Demonstrated competency in Clinical Practice, Knowledge and Skills, Human Resources Management, Performance Improvement, Relationship Management, ECT Processes and Competencies
• Well organized
