Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned staff and testing in Free Standing ERs or Hospital Core Laboratories, including Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Point of Care sections.
- Ensure high standards of work, timely and accurate reporting across shifts.
- Maintain compliance with accrediting agencies such as CAP, COLA, The Joint Commission, and others, including updating manuals and logs.
- Develop and revise Policies and Procedures, implement new technologies and methods.
- Ensure safety regulations are followed and manage quality improvement, quality control, and hazardous materials handling.
- Demonstrate leadership, delegate responsibilities, encourage continuing education, perform in-service training, and evaluate staff.
- Perform bench work as needed, manage laboratory operations, and participate in committee meetings.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of post-graduate hospital experience with supervisory roles in relevant laboratory sections.
- Commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
Education / Licensure:
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related field.
- Registered Medical Technologist (MLS(ASCP), MLS(AMT), or CLS(NCA)).
