Mass General Brigham is seeking a full-time Patient Care Assistant I (PCA) on the Phillips House 22 unit in Boston. The role requires Day/Night shifts with rotating weekend and holiday coverage, and is located at 267 Charles Street.

You will join a team delivering compassionate care to adults in Gynecology Oncology and General Surgery. Under supervision of licensed staff, you will help with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, document in the EHR, and support RNs and physicians during

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Experience in patient care/elder care 0-1 year preferred.
• BLS, CMA, and Nursing Assistant/PCT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and eating.
• Take vitals including temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Document intake/output and vital signs in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Assist with admitting and discharging patients and support the care team.

Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Performs patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including, but not limited to, performing and documenting point of care, vital signs, EKGs, bathing and other sanitary needs of patients, transferring and assisting with ambulation of patients, 1:1 patient observation for safety purposes, and phlebotomy. Assist RNs and physicians with other exams and treatments as required. -Completes all documentation such as height, weight, intake of fluids and food, output of urine/stool/vomit/other drainage, and blood glucose results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). -Assists patients with food tray setup, eating, and feeding, as needed. -Ensures that patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately, as needs indicate and as patient volumes change. -Retrieves equipment from other areas, sets up equipment, cleans equipment between patient use, and reports malfunctioning equipment per organizational policy. -Assists with admitting and discharging patients. -Facilitates orientation of new PCA team members as directed. -Interacts with patients, visitors, and other care team members effectively -Communicates with nursing staff effectively and in a timely manner regarding issues related to patient care and condition. -Fosters a positive, collaborative team environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.**Qualifications**Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
