Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Per-Diem MFM Ultrasound Technologist to cover vacations, maternity leaves, or sick days and provide expert ultrasound imaging in the OB/GYN and maternal-fetal medicine setting.

You will perform designated MFM ultrasound procedures, verify orders, and ensure safe imaging practices while maintaining high quality standards in a fast-paced hospital environment. Collaboration with staff and ongoing education are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS).
• OB/GYN Specialist Certification (ARDMS).
• Two (2) years of experience as an MFM Ultrasound Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform MFM ultrasound procedures on patients as assigned according to policy and radiological standards.
• Verify patient and procedure to be performed.
• Provide clear and accurate instructions to patients.
• Verify and perform correct imaging protocol, step, procedures, and scanner parameters for each patient.
• Ensure patient and staff safety for equipment used.
• Participate in ongoing education and training.
• Perform quality control on equipment and devices as required.
• Communicate with other staff/departments to coordinate care of patients.
• Maintain supply stock and request stock to be ordered when necessary.
• Keep all work areas clean and functional according to DPH and The Joint Commission.
• May teach students and support new technologists.
