Job summary

The Goldbelt Glacier MFLC program seeks a School Counselor to provide non-medical counseling to students under 18 in school and installation settings. You will deliver brief, solution-focused sessions and coordinate with DoDEA schools to support child and adolescent well‑being.

Requirements include a licensed independent practitioner (LCSW/LMFT/LCPC/LMHC) in Alaska, a relevant master's degree, English fluency, CNACI eligibility, and willingness to travel locally.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health-related field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling.
• Licensure at the independent practice level (LCSW, LMFT, LPC LCPC, LMHC) in Alaska.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to pass background/suitability check.
• Experience with children and youth; child/adolescent development expertise.
• Ability to obtain CNACI security clearance.
• Valid driver’s license; local travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Working with students individually, in classrooms, and in groups.
• Provide psycho-social lessons/groups focusing on social-emotional development and deployment stressors.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support children's development.
• Interact with children and parents during events and activities.
• Conduct briefings/presentations to students, teachers, or parents.
• Provide referrals for higher levels of care when needed.
• Provide outreach to parents and installation staff.
• Submit daily activity forms showing direct contact.
• Report to employer and government as required.
