Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Technician Lead to help scale production of Leo satellites. You will maintain automated equipment, troubleshoot failures, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

The role requires a background in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, extensive use of hand tools and metrology, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation.
• 2+ years operating and/or maintaining high volume manufacturing equipment.
• 2+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (Calipers, multimeters, torque wrenches, feeler gauges, gauge blocks).
• Experience owning the performance and health of automated processes.
• Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings.
• Ability to gather and analyze data to support root cause diagnosis.

Key job responsibilities

• Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
• Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift times are Sun-Wed, 4X10 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM
• Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
• Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassisted

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

• high school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
• 2+ years of operating and/or maintaining high volume manufacturing equipment
• 2+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches, feeler gages, gage blocks)
• Experience of ownership of the performance and health of automated processes
• Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
• Ability to gather and analyze data to support root cause diagnosis

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
• 4+ years of operating and/or maintaining high volume manufacturing equipment
• 4+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches, feeler gages, gage blocks)
• Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment
• Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
• Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
