Job Overview

Participates in each phase of the manufacturing process and follows appropriate guidelines and standards in corresponding functions, according to regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform machining, fitting, and assembly operations to construct prototype dies, molds, assembly tooling, gages, and other tools.
• Set up and operate shop equipment such as lathe, milling machine, drill press, surface grinder and plunge EDM machines.
• Work with a wide variety of materials and develop working sketches to plan the sequence of operations.
• Achieve specified tolerances and complete work in a minimum time frame.
• Adapt to rapid engineering changes during prototype development.

Qualifications

1st shift position in the TE Connectivity Product Development Center.

• 3-4 years or more of related work experience; high school diploma required; completion of an AA degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Metal working apprenticeship or trade school a plus.
• Proficiency with surface grinder, vertical milling machine, lathe, tool assembly, and sink/plunge EDM.
• Experience in tool and die making or programming and operating CNC machines.
