Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Planner to translate engineering data into practical production sequences and detailed documentation. The role requires strong knowledge of BOM concepts (EBOM/MBOM/OBOM), experience with PLM/ERP tools, and collaboration across design, engineering, and procurement teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing planning experience or equivalent in manufacturing engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other references.
• Detailed knowledge of fabrication, tooling, manufacturing and inspection methods for aircraft parts, assemblies, systems, or vehicles.
• Familiarity with BOM concepts: EBOM, MBOM, OBOM and related data management.
• Experience with PLM/ERP tools and cross-functional teams.

Job Details: You will be the Manufacturing Planner for the Manufacturing Planning Team, which is responsible for translating engineering data into clear, actionable work instructions.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Manufacturing Planner you will be responsible for turning technical drawings, models, and specifications into practical production sequences and detailed documentation.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Analyze engineering drawings, models, specifications, and related references to define optimal operations and sequences
• Develop comprehensive work instructions and supporting documentation for machine parts, composite assemblies, airframe structures, aircraft systems, and related processes
• Apply shop theory and manufacturing best practices to select tooling, methods, and process flows that maximize efficiency
• Collaborate with designers, production engineers, Engineering, Planning, Tool Design, Tool Shops, and Production to ensure alignment between fabrication sequences and planning directives
• Investigate issues, recommend corrective actions, and maintain conformance to project plans and policies; remain flexible to work any shift or schedule

Basic qualifications (BQs) are the minimum requirements for a candidate to be considered for a position, 3 to 5 BQs are most effective.

Basic Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing planning experience OR equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Documentation development and have ability to create comprehensive work instructions.
• To read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other applicable references.
• Detailed knowledge of fabrication, tooling, manufacturing and inspection methods or processes pertaining to aircraft parts, assemblies, systems, or vehicles.
• To utilize computer applications such as SAP, MS Office, CAPP/SFM and model-based engineering systems such as Solumina/iBASEt, Teamcenter, 3DX.

Desired Skills

Experience related to one or more: machine parts, composite details, composite assemblies, airframe structures, aircraft systems, aircfraft check-outs, wiring, electrical systems, plumbing, aircraft maintenance, MRB, or coatings.

One should possess the basic qualifications regarding the understanding of Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), and Order Bill of Materials (OBOM).

Familiarity With Bill Of Materials (BOM) Concepts

• Basic understanding of what a BOM is, its purpose, and how it is used in different stages of product development and manufacturing.
• Understand basic structure of Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), Order Bill of Materials (OBOM).
• Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues related to EBOM, MBOM, and OBOM.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to EBOM, MBOM, and OBOM.
• Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools, such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or CATIA.
• Familiarity with PLM software, such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, or SAP PLM.
• A degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a relevant industry, such as aerospace, automotive, or consumer products.
• Additionally, experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, or other software used to manage bills of materials and product data.

Basic Understanding Of Engineering Principles

Familiarity with design, development, and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge Of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

Understanding of how products are designed, developed, and manufactured.

Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement.

Familiarity with industry specific regulations and standards: Understanding of industry-specific regulations, such as AS9100 for aerospace.

Pay Information

• $29.30 - $54.87
