Job summary

Mountville Rubber Company is seeking a Manufacturing Operator I to join our production team in Georgia. You will follow safety policies, maintain an organized area, verify initial batch procedures with supervision, and perform tasks per standard operating procedures to ensure high-quality rubber compounds.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour with 2nd shift +$0.50 and 3rd shift +$1.00. We offer weekly pay, benefits, and opportunities to advance within the manufacturing team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand control screens.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety policies, PPE, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent contamination and promote safe operations.
  • Verify the oil and mixing process for the first batch with the Production Supervisor or another designated employee before production begins.
  • Complete assigned work accurately while following established operating procedures and quality standards.
  • Produce quality rubber compounds by following production instructions and operating procedures.
  • Fold finished rubber into boxes or onto pallets and load raw materials onto conveyor belts to support production flow.

Job description

Do What Is Best For The Customer
  • Produce quality rubber compounds by following production instructions and operating procedures.
  • Remove all knots from pre-weigh bags before loading materials into the mixer to support product quality.
  • Complete the current batch before taking scheduled breaks to minimize production interruptions.
  • Fold finished rubber into boxes or onto pallets and load raw materials onto conveyor belts as directed to support efficient production flow.
Drive Improvements and Innovation
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by following standardized work practices and identifying opportunities for safer or more efficient operations.
  • Keep the mixer operating according to shutdown procedures, including running the mixer for an additional 10 minutes with the door open after the final batch.
  • Learn additional production processes and equipment to expand skills and advance within the Manufacturing Operator progression.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals and operational success.
Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand control screens.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn additional production processes and equipment.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where personal protective equipment is required. Due to the production of rubber from powdered chemicals, employees should expect to work in a dusty environment and become dirty during normal job duties. Steel-toe boots are required.

Compensation & Benefits
Starting Pay:

$17.00 per hour

Shift Differentials
  • 2nd Shift: +$0.50/hour
  • 3rd Shift: +$1.00/hour
