- Produce quality rubber compounds by following production instructions and operating procedures.
- Remove all knots from pre-weigh bags before loading materials into the mixer to support product quality.
- Complete the current batch before taking scheduled breaks to minimize production interruptions.
- Fold finished rubber into boxes or onto pallets and load raw materials onto conveyor belts as directed to support efficient production flow.
Drive Improvements and Innovation
- Support continuous improvement efforts by following standardized work practices and identifying opportunities for safer or more efficient operations.
- Keep the mixer operating according to shutdown procedures, including running the mixer for an additional 10 minutes with the door open after the final batch.
- Learn additional production processes and equipment to expand skills and advance within the Manufacturing Operator progression.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals and operational success.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand control screens.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to learn additional production processes and equipment.
Working Conditions
This position requires working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where personal protective equipment is required. Due to the production of rubber from powdered chemicals, employees should expect to work in a dusty environment and become dirty during normal job duties. Steel-toe boots are required.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Pay:
$17.00 per hour
Shift Differentials
- 2nd Shift: +$0.50/hour
- 3rd Shift: +$1.00/hour
