Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Assembly Technician II to assemble, integrate, and test Amazon Leo satellites in a high-safety environment in Washington State. You will work with engineering, test, quality, and operations teams to ensure timely, precise hardware delivery for final integration and launch readiness.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to lift and maneuver heavy hardware, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

• Can show a demonstrated record of good attendance and the ability to consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Manufacturing assembly line experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Quality Leadership: Champion high safety and quality standards for both products and personnel.
• Satellite Integration & Testing: Perform integration and testing of Leo satellites and subassemblies in cleanroom and ESD-controlled environments.
• Hardware Handling: Conduct rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive hardware.
• Precision Tooling: Use calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Process Compliance: Execute work per procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
• Non-Conformance Documentation: Identify and document non-conformities for traceability and corrective action.
• Digital Systems Use: Operate MES software in SAP.
• Collaboration & Improvement: Work with Manufacturing Engineers to implement improvements.
• Operational Support: Support production and safety in a fast paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Hardware Handling: Conduct rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive hardware with precision and care.
• Precision Tooling: Utilize calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, optical inspection devices, micrometers, and calipers.
• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Process Compliance: Execute work in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
• Non-Conformance Documentation: Identify and document non-conformities as required to ensure traceability and corrective action.
• Digital Systems Use: Operate computer software programs including Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in SAP.
• Collaboration & Improvement: Partner with Manufacturing Engineers (ME) to develop, refine, and document activities, driving continuous improvement opportunities.
• Operational Support: Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain an efficient, safe, and effective work environment.
• Flexibility: Work overtime when required and adapt to working independently or collaboratively within a team.

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift time: 1st shift: 6:00am to - 4:30pm Sunday - Wednesday OR Wednesday - Saturday 2nd shift: 5:00pm - 3:30am Sunday -Wednesday OR Wednesday - Saturday
• Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations.
• Able to climb and down ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position.
• Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted.

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits are provided. This information is provided per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on market location.

A day in the life

The MFG Assembly Technician II is responsible for the assembly of Amazon Leo satellites. You will work closely with engineering, test, quality and operations teams to deliver Amazon Leo production hardware to final integration. Your day will involve hands‑on responsibilities such as mechanical assembly, avionics integration, rigging, harnessing connections, fiber optic splicing and testing, requiring attention to detail, precision and adaptability. You’ll ensure that every satellite build meets the highest standards of quality, workmanship, and safety, while maintaining strict timelines to support launch schedules.
